Beautiful unique spice box from the cultures of Pakistan and Afghanistan.

These boxes were used in the early 19th century in all kitchens of Pakistan and Afghanistan to store their legendary spices. Over time, the boxes – of various sizes and colors – became decorative objects due to their eye-catching colors and designs.

Each one different, they were handcrafted using vivid colors that contrasted with the brown of the wood. The most common ones are made of lacquered rosewood.
